La principale diff\u00e9rence dans sa structure est que certains atomes de carbone sont li\u00e9s \u00e0 un groupe fluoro\u00e9ther, avec un atome d&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne, et pas seulement des liaisons carbone-fluor.<\/p>\n<p>Les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s du PFA sont tr\u00e8s similaires \u00e0 celles du PTFE ou du FEP. La stabilit\u00e9 thermique est proche du PTFE : le PFA a un point de fusion, \u00e0 305\u00b0C, inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celui du PTFE tout en permettant une large gamme d&rsquo;applications. Le PFA pr\u00e9sente \u00e9galement un faible coefficient de frottement.<\/p>\n<p>Tout comme le FEP, le PFA peut \u00eatre moul\u00e9 par injection ou directement extrud\u00e9. Cela donne plus de polyvalence dans la conception de pi\u00e8ces PFA que pour le PTFE.<\/p>\n<p>Les tubes PFA sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement plus flexibles que les tubes PTFE, mais n&rsquo;atteignent pas leur dur\u00e9e de vie. Par rapport au FEP, le PFA offre des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9caniques globalement meilleures \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures de fonctionnement \u00e9lev\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>La production PFA est connue comme limitant drastiquement les contaminations possibles du polym\u00e8re. Les fibres de carbone ou de verre sont des charges typiques pour am\u00e9liorer la rigidit\u00e9, la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la compression ou r\u00e9duire son taux d&rsquo;expansion.
