fluor\u00e9, est un copolym\u00e8re de t\u00e9trafluoro\u00e9thyl\u00e8ne (le composant de base du PTFE) et d&rsquo;hexafluoropropyl\u00e8ne, et en tant que tel fait partie de la famille des polym\u00e8res fluor\u00e9s.\u00a0La structure est proche de celle du PFA, sans atomes d&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne : un groupe CF3 est li\u00e9 sur certains atomes de carbone de la cha\u00eene polym\u00e8re.\u00a0Ainsi, le FEP est uniquement bas\u00e9 sur des liaisons carbone-carbone et carbone-fluor, tout comme le PTFE, et est le seul fluoropolym\u00e8re dont la r\u00e9sistance chimique est \u00e9quivalente \u00e0 celle du PTFE.\u00a0Il r\u00e9siste \u00e0 presque tous les produits chimiques, \u00e0 l&rsquo;exception des m\u00e9taux alcalins fondus, du fluor gazeux et de certains compos\u00e9s halog\u00e9n\u00e9s complexes.<\/p>\n<p>Le FEP a un point de fusion beaucoup plus bas que le PTFE, \u00e0 260 \u00b0C, et sa temp\u00e9rature de fonctionnement maximale recommand\u00e9e est de 205 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>Le FEP est \u00e9galement l\u00e9g\u00e8rement plus rigide que le PTFE et pr\u00e9sente une dur\u00e9e de vie moindre.<\/p>\n<p>Un atout important du FEP est sa grande transparence.\u00a0Le FEP fait partie des polym\u00e8res fluor\u00e9s les plus cristallins.\u00a0Il est donc couramment utilis\u00e9 dans les applications m\u00e9dicales n\u00e9cessitant un traitement avec un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 proche des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s classiques des thermoplastiques.
